Create/Edit Tie or Foundation Beams

In the Beams button on the right side toolbar of the interface, it is possible to create or edit:

  • Foundation Beams: Beams between foundations that provide rigidity to the assembly. The pressures exerted on the ground are calculated on these beams.
  • Tie Beams: They do not provide rigidity to the foundations, however they activate the lateral restriction of the ground if this is not previously activated for the connected foundations.

Create / Edit Beam Foundations

When no foundation beam is selected it is possible to create a new one by pressing the + button. A dialog box will open to enter the dimensions of the beam and its vertical alignment with respect to the foundations to be joined.

You must select 2 points of force between foundations to create a beam and press the check button to confirm the creation.

The beam will be created between these two points. To move the beam-foundation connection point you must drag the corresponding arrows in the model.

If you select an existing beam, you can modify its dimensions, move the connection points or delete it. Remember to press the check button to keep the changes made.
