Optimize All Foundations
This button allows you to optimize all foundations in the current configuration, controlling global and specific optimization parameters for each type of foundation.

-
Optimization of Isolated Foundations:
- Max aspect ratio: indicates the maximum permissible aspect ratio for isolated foundations, which is always no less than 1. This limits the possible results of the optimization; for example, Max aspect ratio = 1 would require all isolated foundations to be square.
- Width limits: limits the range of dimensions and the step that the optimization algorithm will use. Since the foundations are reinforced concrete, a step of at least 5 cm is recommended.
-
Optimization of Strip Foundations:
- Same width by Foundation: a strip foundation can be composed of multiple segments, each of which has its own defined width. Enabling this option forces all segments to have the same width once the foundations are optimized. If disabled, only the width of segments with uplift or stress greater than the allowable value will be increased.
- Width limits: limits the range of dimensions and the step size used by the optimization algorithm. Since the foundations are reinforced concrete, a step size of at least 5 cm is recommended.
-
Optimization of Mat Foundations:
- Keep Mat proportions: A mat foundation is defined by its vertices, which in turn define sides. The optimization of a mat foundation is performed by expanding the mat in the direction perpendicular to its sides. If this option is enabled, all sides of the mat will have the same increase in their perpendicular direction. If it is disabled, the mat will grow only towards the sides that have uplift or stress greater than the allowable value.
- Optimize height: when this option is enabled, the height of the mat is optimized by searching for the minimum height that complies with the design limits (allowable stress and uplift) and the punching shear of pedestals, for the current plan dimensions of the mat. It should be noted that the height optimization of the mat is performed after the plan optimization of the mat.
- Height limits: limits the range of dimensions to be explored for the optimization of the mat height. A finer step will result in a more accurate height, but will take more iterations in the optimization.
-
Design limits: in this section, you can modify the design parameters presented above in the “AI-Powered Structuring of Foundations” tool, but an additional parameter is added.
- Minimum Area Under Admissible Tension (default 90%) which allows a certain percentage of the foundation to exceed the allowable soil bearing tension. With the default value, up to 10% of the foundation area is permitted to surpass the allowable limit.
